If you have a young child in your life, you know how exciting it is when the first baby tooth falls out. For many families, it usually precedes the first visit from the tooth fairy. Parents can also get a bit anxious and often have questions about their children losing their teeth. We want to share some information about losing baby teeth to help everyone feel better.
Happy 2024! With the start of the new year, it is a common practice to take time to reflect on the prior year and make changes to improve your life. We want our patients to reflect on their oral health. If it has been some time since you and your family visited our office for an oral hygiene examination and cleaning, there is no better time to schedule an appointment. Even if you have an excellent oral hygiene routine, regular cleanings and examinations in our office are necessary. Read on to learn more about the importance of professional cleanings.
We want to help our patients avoid a dental emergency whenever we can. We know it can be difficult to determine what requires an immediate visit to the office and what can wait. One dental problem that cannot be ignored is a cracked tooth. Delaying treatment can lead to further complications and the need for a more serious procedure.
During your routine oral hygiene examinations, we not only thoroughly clean your teeth, but we also check for problems that can impact your oral health. We look for issues like gum disease and oral cancer. The most common problem that affects our patients of all ages is tooth decay, also known as a cavity. Most people are aware of the term cavity, but do you really understand what it means and how it is caused? Read on to learn more about cavities and what can happen if they are not treated.
Would you believe us if we told you that chewing gum could be good for your oral health? While we aren’t referring to sugary gum like Hubba Bubble or Bubble Yum, sugar-free chewing gum can be beneficial to your oral health. Many people consider chewing gum a form of candy, so they don’t chew it as often as they probably should. Chewing gum actually helps prevent tooth decay and cavities.
Do you often wake up with a headache or experience regular, unexplained discomfort in your jaw? If so, you may be suffering from a common condition known as TMJ.
